We were two friends who after having long term relationships come to an end found an amazing love for each other. Because of our history, we have built our relationship on open communication, focusing on ourselves apart and together, to build a healthy relationship and lifestyle.

We have created this blog to share our love for cooking, creating, traveling, & building the future we truly want.

About Tarra:

I grew up in a small town in PA. (But it was only about 40 minutes southwest of Scranton, so thanks to the office I can now at least tell people I’m from near Scranton and they know what I’m talking about.)

I love sports. I’ve watched football with my dad since age 5. Ironically, my favorite team was the Packers, I picked them because they had my favorite jerseys (I was 5) and years later I moved to WI… I grew up as a multi-sport athlete. I was always an avid soccer player and I began playing for one of the top travel teams in the state when I was 9 and played up until college. I was highly recruited coming out of high school, but chose not to pursue serious college sports due to my post college plans. While, I think this was the best choice, I often miss it and play pick up here and there, have coached a little, and have about 5 intramural championships under my belt.

I started college at Penn State, but transferred and completed my degree at Bloomsburg University due to cost. I majored in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. During my senior year I decided to go the ‘long shot’ route of pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology straight from undergrad. I am currently completing my 5th year of my clinical psychology Ph.D. with a pediatric neuropsychology specialty. I recently matched to an amazing internship at Baylor and will be moving to Houston in July for a year. Which means I actually, finally know when I’m graduating! June 2017!!

I’ve never been a girly girl by any stretch of the imagination and I’ve never really relied very much on other people, but Zach and I make such an amazing couple (*gag*…but seriously). It’s the first time I’m actually excited to get up in the morning and even enjoy mundane tasks like running errands. (Trust me, my old self is completely disgusted by the last 2 sentences…)

We both enjoy a lot of the same things, Star Wars, House of Cards, and bike rides, to name a few. We especially love cooking together, traveling, and crafting. Because of my upcoming move to Houston, we decided to start this blog as a way to stay connected with those things while living so far apart.

About Zach:

Born in raised in Appleton, WI. Though I have made many moves in careers and Cities I have always been in Wisconsin. Yes- Beer, Brats, Cheese, what? 30 degrees below zero? are you taking about spring?

I have always been very curious and explored many hobbies. From classic WI hunting and fishing, to woodworking with my father, remodeling homes,  and even playing bass guitar in a Heavy Metal band. My current hobbies are collecting rare Bourbon and Cooking with my best friend. And though our new obsession for DIY the woodwork love has been resurfacing.

I started in sales in High School and never turned back, I am currently a Territory manager for the worlds largest construction equipment provider.

I have an amazing two year old Son who is turning out to be a mirror image of myself. I love being a father, it is an amazing feeling to have a little person that not only gives me a reason to build an empire, but also someone to pass it down to. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. And to have a life full of ups and downs and unexpected life changes, and somehow has not only given me an amazing son, but also lead Tarra and I together makes me feel like the luckiest man alive and motivates me to be the best version on me possible.

Although it will be hard to spend a year apart from Tarra, I am very proud and excited for Tarra to have such an amazing opportunity to finish her Ph.D at a site like Texas Children’s.  I am happy that we can connect though things as simple as cooking and creating, this blog is going to help us maintain that connection and I add it a element of surprise and competition, I fully intend to surprise her with a thing or two on WordPress.
